Sturt Football Club is proud to announce a new partnership with South Australia Police (SAPOL) to deliver a dedicated Think! Road Safety game day presented by Morris and deliver a powerful community event promoting life-saving road safety awareness through sport.
On Saturday 23 August 2025, Thomas Farms Oval in Unley will host a Think! Road Safety game day, headlined by the HostPlus SANFL Men’s League clash between Sturt and Adelaide Football Clubs.
In the lead up to the game and across the day, SAPOL and Sturt will engage fans, families and players with a range of activations designed to drive home the importance of making safe choices on our roads.
The initiative is part of SAPOL’s broader commitment to promoting safer driving behaviours across South Australia.
SAPOL’s Road Safety team will be onsite with educational displays, virtual reality experiences and giveaways that reinforce the importance of being safe on our roads. The day is designed to engage football fans of all ages while delivering vital safety messages that can help save lives on our roads.
Sturt CEO Sue Dewing welcomed the partnership and initiative, saying:
“We’re very proud to partner with SAPOL for this important community game day and event. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility, and we’re thrilled to use the platform of football to drive this message home in a meaningful and family friendly way.”
South Australia Police Traffic Services Branch Officer in Charge Superintendent Shane Johnson said:
“We know the spirit of mateship that exists in the football community has a lot of power when influencing the decisions people make when driving.
“Whether it be within your teams or amongst mates, we all have a role in encouraging each other to make safe choices on the roads.
“Let’s all keep this fantastic community intact by making sure we – and our mates – are fit to drive before getting behind the wheel.”
