Sturt allocates considerable resources into its Centre of Excellence programs to ensure that a minimum of two players are drafted to the AFL and three players debut at SANFL level each year.

To identify participants the Club will call for the nomination of talented players aged 12-14 (boys) and 12-16 (girls) from our zone clubs and schools through the player’s coaches and or the SANFL appointed junior coordinators. These players are invited to attend testing sessions.

View Sturt Zone here.

At the conclusion of the testing a squad for each age group will be selected. These are called Development Squads. Under 16 and Under 18 players are referred to as Youth Squads and are generally players who have come through our Development Squad programs.
