Sturt Football Club is thrilled to announce the return of 2025 premiership forward Connor McFadyen, who has signed with the Double Blues for the 2027 season! 💙🩵
After stepping away from SANFL football at the conclusion of the 2025 season, Connor is set to make his return to Unley, bringing valuable experience, versatility and proven goal-kicking ability to the Double Blues’ forward line.
Having joined Sturt in 2023 following his time with the Brisbane Lions, Connor quickly established himself as an important member of the League side. Originally playing as a defender, he made a successful transition into the forward line, leading the Club’s goal kicking in 2024 with 35 goals before backing it up with an impressive 38-goal campaign in 2025.
Connor played a key role in Sturt’s 2025 SANFL Premiership triumph, kicking two goals in the Grand Final victory over Glenelg and helping the Double Blues secure their 16th League Premiership.
His return also creates an exciting family connection at Unley, with younger brother Fergus McFadyen recently signing with Sturt for 2027. The two brothers will now have the opportunity to line up together in the Double Blue next season.
