Sturt Football Club is excited to announce the signing of talented ruck/forward Cassie McWilliam for the 2027 SANFLW season.
The 23-year-old joins the Double Blues from Glenelg Football Club, bringing valuable experience across the SANFLW, VFLW, WAFLW and Northern Territory football competitions.
Standing at 179cm, Cassie is an athletic and versatile player, known for her strong aerial presence, marking ability and capacity to impact games both in the ruck and up forward.
Originally from the Northern Territory, Cassie has built an impressive football résumé, representing Williamstown in the VFLW and Swan Districts in the WAFLW before joining Glenelg ahead of the 2025 SANFLW season.
Cassie has established herself as a dangerous attacking option, claiming back-to-back NTFL Women’s Premier League Leading Goalkicker awards with Nightcliff. She kicked an impressive 36 goals in the 2024/25 season before backing it up with another 30 goals in 2025/26.
During her time at Glenelg, Cassie continued to showcase her versatility at SANFLW level, combining her strong ruck work with an ability to provide a marking target around the ground and contribute in attack.
Her experience, athleticism and ability to play multiple roles will provide an exciting addition to Sturt’s SANFLW squad heading into 2027.
