In Memoriam – Peter Bruce

The Club is both shocked and saddened to learn that Peter Bruce aged 59 died unexpectedly in his sleep last Sunday night.

For more than a decade Peter and wife Nathalie organised the post-match day clean-up of Unley Oval through the 3rd Goodwood Scouts. With volunteers at times scarce, Peter and Nathalie would often clean up by themselves or with very little assistance.

They would arrive at Unley Oval by 7am match days to distribute multiple bins and then return post game to empty landfill and collect recyclables from around the oval and grandstands. It is not the most pleasant of back breaking tasks, however they never once missed a game and/or complained.

As part of the Club’s match-day licence conditions Unley Oval must be returned as found. To date the Club has never received a complaint from Council about this thanks to the hard work that Peter and Nathalie have done.

Our thoughts are with Nathalie and their children at this time.
