A message from Nathan Grima:
To return to his home club after 258 AFL games and share his knowledge shows how much the club has meant to Danyle. Whilst we know Danyle could still play comfortably at SANFL level, I respect the fact that his priorities need to be directed at his family and the next phase of his life. Everyone that played with Danyle this year has relished the chance to play with him and learn from his AFL experience. We wish him and Tara well in the future.

A message from Danyle:
I’d like to thank Sturt Football Club for the opportunity to come back and play for this great club.
It was an amazing experience and something I’ll hold dearly, [including] the opportunity to play with some great teammates and also watch the next wave of talent coming through the ranks.
I would loved to have continued on another year with the boys and fight for a SANFL premiership.
But I have realised the time commitments required to achieving this goal is starting to impact and limit my chances to watch my children begin participating in their chosen sports and life.

I therefore have decided to step aside from SANFL football. This gives me the chance to watch the young core of Sturt Football Club players come through and be successful but also gives me the time to watch and participate more in my children starting sporting life.

I’d like to thank Sue Dewing, Chris Thredgold, Chris Trapp and Nathan Grima for everything they have done over the last 12 months. And lastly thanks to every player and teammate over the last year.

I wish you nothing but the best in the future.

Thanks,
Danyle Pearce
