1 Protecting Your Privacy
1.1 The Sturt Football Club Inc (“the Club”
"we" or "us") is committed to providing
you with the highest levels of service, this includes
protecting your privacy.
1.2 The Club is bound by the Commonwealth Privacy Act
1988 .The Privacy Act and this Statement sets out a
number of principles concerning the protection of your
personal information in relation to the Club’s
activities.
2 Your personal information
2.1 We may hold a variety of personal information about
you, which may include your name, date of birth, current
and previous addresses, home or business telephone/mobile/fax
phone numbers, e-mail address, bank account and or credit
card details, occupation, employer, relevant membership
details and details about your personal interests and
/ or preferences.
2.2 If you choose not to provide personal
information to us, we may not be able to provide you
with access to our Web Site or to the content, products
and services available on or from the Web Site or fulfill
any or all aspects of your membership or maintain current
information about the Club, it’s sponsors and
or it’s activities.
3 How we collect personal information
3.1 The Club collects personal information about you
in the following manner;
(a) Directly from you, when you provide information
by phone, mail, email, online (on or via the Web Site)
or in person or by documents such as a membership application,
renewal or survey form.
4 How we collect personal information from the
Web Sites
4.1 When you visit our Web Site, our web server may
record anonymous information such as the time, date
and URL of the request. This information assists us
to monitor and improve our service to members and supporters
and also to monitor and improve our Web Site.

4.2 We may also use "cookies" on our Web Site.
Cookies are an industry standard tool and most major
web sites use them. A cookie is a small text file that
the Web Sites may place on your computer. Cookies are
usually used as a means for the Web Site to remember
your preferences. Cookies may collect and store personal
information about you. Information collected in this
manner has the same privacy protection as information
collected in other ways as stated in Sec 3.
You can adjust your Internet browser
to disable cookies or to warn you when cookies are being
used. However, if you disable cookies, you may not be
able to access certain areas of the Web Site or take
full advantage or make full use of the Web Site.
4.3 The Club may use third party suppliers
in relation to the Web Site. These suppliers may use
cookies for tracking or web management purposes. No
personally identifiable information is collected by
these suppliers from our Web Site.
4.4 All personal information collected
and held by us will be governed by our most recent Privacy
Statement.
4.5 The Club takes all reasonable steps to ensure that
all the information collected by us is secure.
5 Passwords and usernames
5.1 We may issue you with a username and / or password
to allow you to access some of the content and information
on the Web Site.
5.2 While we will make every reasonable effort to ensure
that your username and password is not disclosed to
other people, you are ultimately responsible for maintaining
the secrecy of your username and password and for ensuring
that no one except you uses these usernames and passwords.
6 How we use your personal information
Your personal information may be used by us to:
6.1 Inform you and keep you up to date on all Club information
and activities.
6.2 Give you access to the Web Site
and the other content, products and services available
from the Web Site.
6.3 Enter you into our competitions and promotions;
6.4 Administer and manage the Web Site.
6.5 Inform you of changes to the Web Site or to the
content, products and services available from the Web
Site.
6.6 Research and develop the Web Site and our other
services.
6.7 Gain an understanding of your information and communication
needs.
6.8 Monitor and research the requirements
of Sturt Football Club supporters and members.
Your personal information is also
collected to promote and market services provided by
Club sponsors. If you do not wish to receive information
from Club sponsors you may “opt out” by
simply advising the Club (see Sec 13 How to contact
us). By “opting out” you may not be
informed of special promotions and offers promoted by
the Club and / or its sponsors.
All emails sent by us which offer marketing or commercial
material will contain accurate information regarding
the message’s originator and will contain a functional
unsubscribe facility to allow you to opt-out of receiving
messages from us in the future.
7 When we disclose your personal information
7.1 We may disclose your personal information to organisations
directly associated with us, i.e. financial sponsors
of the Sturt Football Club, the SANFL, The Unley Community
Sports Club and our associated businesses including,
Barzaar and the Castle Tavern. The Club takes reasonable
steps to ensure that these organisations are bound by
confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation
to the protection of your personal information.
7.2 When legally required to do so.
8 Ensure we hold accurate information
The Club will take all reasonable precautions to ensure
that the personal information we collect, use and disclose
is accurate, complete and up-to-date. However, the accuracy
of the information we hold depends on the information
you provide. That’s why we recommend that you:
8.1 let us know if there are any errors in your personal
information; and
8.2 keep us up to date with changes to personal information
such as your name or address and contact information.

9 You can access your personal
information
9.1 You have a right to access your personal information
at any time, subject to some exceptions allowed by law.
If you would like to do so, please let us know. For
security reasons you will be required to put such a
request in writing or provide suitable identification
if requesting such information in person.
10 Children’s privacy
10.1 Children's privacy is very important to us. We
require that children under 18 years of age obtain a
parent or guardian’s consent before accessing
or using our Web Site, or before acquiring any products
or services via the Web Site.
10.2 While we will make every reasonable effort to ensure
that children’s privacy and other rights are not
compromised, it is ultimately the responsibility of
parents or guardians to monitor their children’s
Internet usage.
11 Changes to our Privacy Statement
From time to time, we may need to change this Privacy
Statement to reflect our changing business practices.
We may change the Privacy Statement at any time by posting
the changed Privacy Statement on our web site and by
posting a notice to users on the homepage of that web
site stating that a change has occurred.
